Do not discard so easily the epiphanies and realizations that you experience. You are trained so that your negative thoughts are more sustainable, and your positive moments of joy and self-actualization are only briefly acknowledged.

When you find yourself in the space of remembering – a spiritual truth that has revealed itself; a knowingness or recognition of the process and your personal growth; an experience or news that makes your heart smile with joy – relish in them. Celebrate them. Talk about them with others. Make them just as real, important, and in the forefront of your reality that they share the stage with the negative space. Then…

Talk about them more. Think about them more. Relish the original feelings of those moments. If you make this a recurring practice (like gratitude), your stage will eventually be filled with positive thoughts to recall, and you can more easily choose to direct the negative to exit.
