Adjusting to a new normal can feel unsettling when there is so much uncertainty around what that new normal looks like. There is no need to self-loathe or be hard on yourself for an inability to focus, or a desire to emotionally and mentally detach from reality.
Stop beating yourself up for not putting forth more effort to make the best of an unusual situation, or for not adjusting sooner. While true that time is ripe with opportunity for change, you are an empath and must adjust more slowly as you filter the extreme emotions around you.
Self-compassion is key; there is no rush.
